THE item "London rail link booster" in the Kidderminster Shuttle on August 17, reported Chiltern Trains' forthcoming service as Kidderm-inster's first direct service to London.
According to the book The Railways of Stourbridge, Kidderminster enjoyed direct links with the capital - London Euston and Paddington being the termini - right from the arrival of the railway in Kiddermin-ster until 1965.
There was a recent revival of the Padd-ington service 1993-5.
Chiltern Trains' welcome initiative is the first via the route to Marylebone.
