CRICKET: Horspath seamers send rivals crashing

Seamers Will Eason and Lee Mason starred as Horspath inflicted a first defeat of the season on high-riding Buckingham Town.
Batting first, Horspath reached 201-7 thanks to Ned Murray (57) and Adam Krol (52), while James Gear was the pick of the bowlers with 4-41.
Buckingham were never at the races when they replied as Eason (5-35) and Mason (4-49) sent them crashing to 84 all out and a 117-run defeat.
Horspath 25, Buckingham 9.
Dinton increased their lead at the top, but were made to battle at Oxford Downs before scraping home by one wicket.
Tom Norris (69) and Tim Hardy (57) helped Downs amass a useful 239-6.
Lee Marland’s 74 kept Dinton on course when they replied, while Neil Spicer steered them to victory with 32 not out as they reached 243-9.
Oxford Downs 13, Dinton 25.
David Smith and Francios Vainker were the stars for Oxford 2nd in their comfortable victory over Bletchley.
Smith cracked a fine 121 as Oxford racked up 248, James Sprittles taking 4-94.
Left-arm spinner Vainker then got to work, taking 5-44 as Bletchley fell away to 111 all out and a 137-run defeat.

Cumnor youngster Shahbaz Alam was another century-maker as he made the most of an excellent batting track at Shipton-under-Wychwood.
Shahbaz hit 124 and Adam Cook 71 in Cumnor’s 280-6.
Shipton made a good fist of their reply with Shaun Miller (53) leading the way, but they eventually fell 50 runs short on 230 all out.
Chris Thompson was the pick of the bowlers with 5-57.

Bottom-of-the-table Bicester & North Oxford are still looking for their first win of the season after rain ruined their latest attempt at Banbury Twenty.
Ian Bryan made a top score of 51 in Bicester’s 176 and Twenty were 90-4 when the weather intervened.
