CRICKET: Tubb smashes unbeaten 217

Shannon Tubb cracked an unbeaten 217 as Great Brickhill amassed a Cherwell League record score of 382-2 from 53 overs at home to Cropredy, who opted to field first!
Tubb’s innings was the second highest in Cherwell history, behind Wolverton’s Andrew Watkins, who struck 223 not out in 2004.
The visitors were dismissed for 175.

Steve Roberts took 6-71 as Oxford Downs 2nd crushed Kimble by 131 runs.
Noel Pearson (67) led the way in Downs’s 263-3.
Roberts and Watts's son Will (3-7) then dismissed the home side for 132.

Aston Rowant 2nd also enjoyed an easy win at home to Shipton 2nd, whose decision to field first backfired when Chris Eaton (64), Matt Needham (62) and Paul Plumridge (54) helped Rowant reach 247-5 dec.
Ryan Dutton then took 6-22 as Shipton fell to 144 all out.

Steve Slade’s 5-30 saw Cumnor 2nd to victory at Princes Risborough, who were bowled out for 126.
Teenager George Glew had top-scored with 61 not out in the visitors' 215-8.

Paul Maddock took 5-16 to dismiss Banbury Twenty 2nd for 112, Neil Harrison making 57.
Arshad Latif then hit 54 as the visitors eased to 113-1.
