Oxford University go for glory in the women’s Boat Race tomorrow, with former Hink-sey Sculling member Alice Carington-Windo hoping to star.
The 21-year-old, who attended Oxford High School, started at Hinksey when she was 15 and will row in the No 2 seat.
The race, which starts at 3pm, has been switched from Henley to the Olympic venue at Dorney Lake, because of the high water on the River Thames.
“I’m excited and proud to be part of the Dark Blue boat this year,” said Carrington-Windo.
“I’m incredibly grateful to Hinksey for introducing me to the sport, and for the continued support the club has given me.” Her younger sister, Agnes, is an active member of the WJ15 squad at Hinksey.
