Ambiance will aim to emulate his stable companion Bungle Inthejungle in the Molecomb Stakes at Glorious Goodwood, which starts later this month, writes Mark Edwards.

Trained by Mick Channon at West Ilsley, Ambiance ran a blinder when fourth behind No Nay Never in the Norfolk Stakes at Royal Ascot, with the winner clocking a new juvenile track record.

He had previously disappointed on his racecourse debut at Newbury before landing a Ripon maiden event.

Ted Voute, racing manager to owner Prince Faisal, said: “The Prince went to have a look at him before returning home and he was talking about the Molecomb with Mick.

“Mick won it last year with Bungle Inthejungle so he knows what it takes.

“We’d hope the American horse (No Nay Never) stays away until the Morny and Aidan O'Brien stays over in Ireland that day!

“Our horse actually ran the fastest furlong of any in the race.

“Mick always thought he was his best two-year-old and we couldn’t understand what happened at Newbury, but we’re back on track now.”

Channon, meanwhile, was on the mark with The Scuttler at Salisbury on Sunday.

The 100-30 shot got up by a short head to win the mile handicap.

Blewbury trainer Eve Johnson Houghton made a successful 352-mile round trip to Pontefract on Monday when Cool Bahamian got up by a neck to win the Class 2 Spindrifter Conditions Stakes under jockey John Fahy.

East Ilsley handler Hughie Morrison was also in the winners when Realize claimed a Windsor maiden on the same night.

Sean Curran saddled Jay Bee Blue to victory at Windsor on Saturday.

The four-year-old, who went off an 11-2 shot, won by a length and a quarter for the trainer based at Hatfield, near Stanford in the Vale.
