JONJOE Kenny would welcome the chance to return on loan at Oxford United next season.

The right back returned to training with Everton this week, having helped the U’s win automatic promotion from Sky Bet League Two.

Kenny had big shoes to fill when he joined in January to replace the popular George Baldock, who had been recalled from his loan by MK Dons.

The 19-year-old had made just seven senior appearances on loan at Wigan Athletic before joining the U’s, but went on to start 19 games – including the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy final defeat at Wembley.

Kenny enjoyed the experience and while the England youth international’s main aim is to play for the Toffees, he would jump at the chance of linking up with Michael Appleton’s men next season.

He said: “It is a great start to my career.

“I can take these memories and experience back with me and I would love to come back again, but we will have to see what happens.

“Everton is my first club and obviously I want to play for their first team, but to come here has been brilliant.

“The lads are the best bunch I have been with, so it is a great club and it is only going to go up.”
