LIAM Sercombe has admitted to being unsure of the reception he will receive on his first return to the Kassam Stadium.
The midfielder was an integral part of the Oxford United side which won automatic promotion from Sky Bet League Two in 2015/16.
But unspecified ‘disciplinary reasons’ saw him fall out of favour with then head coach Michael Appleton, leading to last summer’s move to Bristol Rovers.
Sercombe, who made the 400th appearance of his career last weekend, told Rovers’ official website: “I was at Oxford for two years and managed 101 appearances in that time and a promotion so I have good memories there too.
“I’m not sure what sort of reception I will get.
"It probably won’t be the best but it doesn’t bother me if it’s negative as I’ll have my family and friends there and I’ll go into that game hoping for the three points for Rovers.”
Sercombe has settled well at the Memorial Stadium, scoring ten goals this season.
U’s midfielder Joe Rothwell said: “It will be nice to see him again, but when it comes to the game you don’t have friends on the pitch.
“We’ll have to be wary of him, but they have a few attacking threats.”
