A FREE seminar on what you need to know to be a Blackheath bed and breakfast operator is to be held in Greenwich. The event is aimed at potential or new owners starting out in the business.

It will include an introduction to tourism in Greenwich, planning and fire safety advice, environmental health advice and training opportunities.

More B&B operators are desperately needed in the area to cope with the expected influx of visitors to see the Millennium sites.

The seminar has been organised by Greenwich Council's leisure services despartment, the London Tourist Board and Greenwich Waterfront Development Partnership.

It will be held on February 19 at the Trafalgar Tavern, Park Row, Greenwich.

The seminar will give people the opportunity to speak with representatives from the council, the tourist board, Woolwich College and Fire Safety.

There will also be free business advice from the Greenwich Enterprise Board and the National Westminster Bank.

Call Donna Mackon 0181 317 5433 for an appointment.
