Banbury United manager Paul Davis wants the Spencer Stadium to become a place teams fear to come as the Puritans host Chesham United in the second of three home matches in the space of a week tomorrow, writes Matthew Bruce.

His side ended their three-match losing streak in the Evo-Stik Southern League Premier Division with a 2-2 draw against Biggleswade Town on Tuesday and Davis hopes it will be the start of a positive run at home.

He said: “In the past we’ve made it into a bit of a fortress, it’s an old ground and the fans get right behind the team.

“We said to the lads at the weekend that with three home games now in the space of a week, let’s get back to that flowing football and really get the fans behind us.

“We were disappointed with a draw on Tuesday night, but if we win our next two games we’ll have seven points from a possible nine and I would certainly have taken that before Tuesday.

“It’s something to build on. We’re one game unbeaten now and we want to try and extend that.”

Defenders Joel Meade and Callum White, who both missed out on Tuesday due to illness, both return to the Puritans side.
