DIDCOT Town joint manager Ian Concannon is relishing tomorrow’s trip to local rivals Wantage Town in Evo-Stik Southern League Division 1 South & West.

The Railwaymen have the chance to do the double over their struggling hosts, having beaten the Alfredians 1-0 at Draycott Engineering Loop Meadow last December.

And after ending their nine-match winless run with a shock 2-0 victory over league leaders Merthyr Town last weekend, Didcot are now eyeing another derby win.

“You shouldn’t need much motivation for a local derby,” said Concannon.

“We want to beat them and they want to beat us, because everyone wants to claim those bragging rights.

“There’s only about eight miles between the two towns, so it’s a big game for both clubs.”

Midfielder Josh Dutton-Black is unavailable due to work commitments, but Didcot have an otherwise full-strength side to choose from.

Matt Clark could make his debut for Wantage against his former club, but the Alfredians are without midfielder Adam Doyle due to a knee injury and striker Adam Lovegrove to work commitments.

Callum McNish will miss North Leigh’s home clash with Taunton Town due to a knee injury, but Elliot Osborne-Ricketts is expected to return and George Seacole also comes into the squad.
