MARK Bell scored a late winner for the second match running as Banbury United beat Dorchester Town 1-0.

Just five days after his stoppage-time goal against Leamington, the substitute netted an 85th-minute penalty to earn victory in Dorset.

The win extended the Puritans’s unbeaten run in the Evo-Stik Southern League Premier Division to six games.

Banbury created the better chances in the first half, with Conor McDonagh firing wide and George Nash seeing an effort blocked.

Their dominance continued after the break, with Jack Self firing straight at goalkeeper Shane Murphy.

Banbury substitute Darius Browne had an opportunity to break the deadlock with six minutes to go, only to fire into the side netting from a narrow angle.

Despite their dominance, Mike Ford’s side looked to be returning from the south east with just a point.

However, they were awarded a penalty on 85 minutes when Neil Martin handled Marvin Martin’s cross.

Bell stepped up and confidently fired the ball into the top corner to earn victory.
