DIDCOT Town boss Andy Ballard is calling for more of the same from his side when they make the trip to Mangotsfield United in the Evo-Stik South League West Division.

The Railwaymen posted an impressive 4-0 victory at home to Slimbridge last week, a win that leaves the Railwaymen two points outside the play-off places in ninth.

Ballard was delighted with his side’s display, particularly their defensive display.

“Saturday’s win was right out of the top drawer,” he said.

“We’ve focused a lot on defensive responsibility and setting up to be harder to score against, and last week it worked perfectly.

“Mangotsfield will be another difficult team. They are down at the bottom of the table and fighting for every point, so we need to make sure we do all the good things we did against Slimbridge again.”

Striker Louis Joyce has been added to Didcot’s injury list with an ankle problem, while Sam Barder and Callum McNish are still sidelined.

Kidlington will look to bounce back from a heavy defeat when they travel to Wimborne Town.

A 6-1 reverse at Salisbury in midweek ended an

11-game unbeaten run.

And boss Julian McCalmon was happy to take the blame for the reverse.

“What happened was in no way my players’ fault, I got it wrong and we were punished,” he said.

“Fair play to Salisbury who took advantage of the mistakes I made.

“We’re all eager to put things right.”

Kidlington hope to have leading scorer Anaclet Odhiambo back in the squad after injury.

Lance Williams and Declan Benjamin should also be back after missing Tuesday’s defeat.

North Leigh take on Yate Town at Eynsham Park.

Thame United host Fleet Town in the East Division.

Manager Mark West will again include young centre half Jordan Davies, after stepping up from the reserves to impress in last week’s victory at Egham.

“I wanted to freshen things up defensively, and took a bit of a chance with Jordan, and it paid off, as he did really well,” he said.

Fleet have been struggling this season, but have picked up four wins in their last six outings.

“They’re in a bit of a false position really,” said West.

“We could have done with playing them two months ago when they were in the bottom two.

“But we’ve been playing some good stuff lately and hopefully that can continue.”
