OXFORD United have sold more than 6,000 tickets for their derby with Swindon Town at the Kassam Stadium next week.

The rivals meet for the first time in three years after being paired together in the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy second round.

Swindon have sold their 1,200-strong allocation, so with a couple of days remaining for U’s fans to buy tickets, the gate is likely to surpass 8,000.

That would be an increase on the last meeting, which was also in the competition, when 7,746 saw Alfie Potter’s late goal win the tie 1-0.

Tickets will not be available on the day of the game, so supporters have until Monday afternoon to book their place.

U’s favourites James Constable and Joey Beauchamp will be the guests of honour for the game.
