CALLUM O'Dowda has been called up to the Republic of Ireland's senior squad for the first time as they gear up for Euro 2016 with a friendly against the Netherlands.

The winger, who scored ten goals as Oxford United claimed automatic promotion from Sky Bet League Two, is in Martin O'Neill's provisional 35-man group announced today.

O'Dowda made his under 21 international debut in March 2015 and has been a regular starter ever since.

He will meet up with the squad on Monday, May 23 at the FAI National Training Centre before facing the Netherlands on Friday, May 27.

O'Neill will announce his Euro 2016 squad the following day.

Ireland have been drawn in Group E for the finals in France, alongside Sweden (Paris, June 13), Belgium (Bordeaux, June 18) and Italy (Lille, June 22).
