Didcot Taekwon-Do were again among the medals at the English Open, held at Guildford Spectrum.

Carl Davis led the way with two gold and a bronze to cap his preparations for the European Championships in Italy at the end of the month.

Sisters Faye and Kirsty Miller won two silvers and two bronze, while Przemek Psiur also took silver at black belt.

Sienna Carbonari, eight, won bronze – her first national medal.

Vale TKD's Oliver Grimes won gold in junior male colour belt patterns and under 55kg sparring, while Jamie Harmon triumphed in the junior male colour belt under 65kg sparring category.

Charlie Rhodes won gold in the ten-14 years colour belt under 165cm sparring, with bronzes for Hollie Charles (junior female colour belt under 55kg sparring), Aaron Poole (junior male colour belt heavyweight sparring), Keira Stone (under 10 female colour belt sparring) and Lucas Smyth (10-14 colour belt patterns and under 145cm sparring).

It was lucky 13 as that number of candidates attempted and passed their black belt grading at Banbury Shukokai Karate Centre.

Students of sensei Gareth Rees, the students were assessed by ex-world champion Mal Hudson, with Stuart Boyland, Alex Graham, Jon Carlo Dimaculangan, Lance Sunga, Jack Oakes, Conrad Wale, Tom Koster, Joe and Alex del Principe all passing.
