OXFORD RL ran in six tries to make a strong return to competitive action in beating Hemel Stags 34-12.

Hemel responded and Mike Steward bundled through. Ben Stead converting.

A knock-on allowed Oxford to pile on the pressure and Casey Canterbury went over.

Richardson added the conversion to make it 12-6.

The Blues lost Josh Scott to a head wound.

But Tom Holmes crossed and Richardson added the extras for 18-6 at half-time.

Blues continued where they left off and Charlie Greene cantered through, with Richardson converting again.

Hemel came back into the game and were rewarded with a try for Scott Ellis, which Stead converted.

But two further tries sealed the game for Oxford.

Josh Nathaniel and Santino Decaro crossed, with Nathan Kitson converting the latter.
