OXFORD City’s Dave Parsons ran another impressive time to cruise to vet 60 victory at the Stroud Half Marathon.
Parsons, who turns 65 next month, clocked 1hr 23mins 53 secs to finish 55th overall.
Runners faced a strong headwind for most of the second half of the race, but this did not stop Parsons beating his nearest rival by eight and a half minutes.
His 2011 best of 1.22.52 for the 13.1-mile distance puts him fifth in the vet 60 rankings, while Parsons is also in the UK’s top five for 10K.
Teammate Rob Webster was the second vet 45 home, finishing 22nd in a time of 1.20.07.
Headington Roadrunners’ Adrienne Hopkins was third vet 35 lady, clocking 1.34.41.
Radley’s Lauren Tolmie ran 1.28.10 to put her 13th in the UK under 23 rankings.
