FORMER London Welsh team manager Mike Scott “struggles to understand” why he took the actions that earned him a life ban from rugby union.
Scott, who previously worked for Saracens and Harlequins and left Welsh in December, admitted “providing false and misleading information to the RFU” in order to register Tyson Keats.
His case was dealt with yesterday without a personal hearing at his own request.
An RFU statement yesterday said: “Mike Scott was today suspended from the management, coaching or playing of rugby union and membership of any club for life following an RFU Misconduct Hearing.”
Scott cannot apply for the ban to be lifted for ten years, but said in writing he would never take up another position in rugby union.
Scott also said he acted alone in his misconduct and that “he struggles to understand how or why” he did what he did.
