BB&O ROUND-UP
MATT Rushden scored a hat-trick as Harwell recovered from a sloppy start to win 46-12 at Kingsclere in the BB&O Championship.
The visitors trailed 7-0 to a converted try in the first minute after a catalogue of mistakes from the kick-off, but then took control.
Tries for captain Andy Lee, Ryan Hodnett, Dave Edwards and Matt Rushden, with a conversion from Lee, put them 22-7 ahead.
In the second half, further tries for Rob Underhill, converted by Lee, and two more for winger Rushden gave Harwell a 39-7 lead.
Kingsclere scored a consolation before Gavin Wilde’s late try and another Lee conversion finished the scoring.
Chipping Norton gave a walkover to Tadley in the BB&O Premier Division as they were unable to field a side.
Gosford All Blacks have also been deducted five points in the same division.
The punishment is for what Gosford described as an “administrative error with player registration” and dents their promotion hopes.
