OXFORD RL ended York Knights’ 100 per cent start with a 24-16 victory that was arguably the most impressive since their formation.

York opened the scoring when Jack Lee put in Jack Iley to go over in the corner.

On 30 minutes, Oxford’s Tommy Connick put in Sean Morris to dart through the defence.

Oxford led 10-4 after a length-of-the-field try from JJ Baird, converted by Jimmy Rowland.

Ben Reynolds converted his own try to make it 10-10, but Morris’s second score, converted by Rowland, edged Oxford ahead.

Callum Mulkeen bagged Oxford’s fourth try before Reynolds converted Jack Lee’s try for York.

Connick was stretchered off after a nasty collision, but Rowland touched down his own kick ahead to seal the win late on.

What a result against York, perhaps the best Oxford has acheived.

Morris had a blinder at home at Iffley against the Hawks as well, and it seems like his form didn't slump despite the 2 weeks off.

A win this Friday against the Scorpians will see the club within the finals contenders.

Bring it home lads!
