HENLEY HAWKS head coach Pete Davies is hoping full back Jake Randall will return from Australia an even better player.

Randall has scored five tries in Hawks’ promotion-winning National League 2 South campaign and will travel to the other side of the world to play for Newcastle this summer until November.

Davies is hoping the experience will benefit not only Randall, but also the club in their National League 1 exploits next season.

“We advocate players going around the world,” he said.

“If they get the opportunity to learn different countries’ approach to rugby then they only come back better for it.

“He has been outstanding this year and we look forward to him coming back.”

Former London Welsh winger Liam O’Neill will rejoin Henley from Greene King IPA Championship side Nottingham.

O’Neill played for Hawks on loan from the London Wasps Academy in 2012.

Scrum half Connor Murphy will also be back at Dry Leas next season.

Murphy, who broke his leg in Saturday’s win at Dings Crusaders, will remain dual registered with Aviva Premiership side London Irish.
