A LAST minute Freddie Exley try and Jack Robinson conversion helped Oxford Harlequins earn a thrilling 25-25 draw with Towcestrians on Saturday.

Quins welcomed their visitors, who were top of South West 1 East, looking to preserve their unbeaten run at Marston Ferry Road.

They were ahead on three minutes when Robinson ran in from his own 22 metre line.

But unconverted scores from Matt Yuill and Murray Aitcheson gave Towcestrians a 10-5 lead after 20 minutes.

Robinson kicked a penalty, but James Falvey crossed to make it 15-8 at the break.

Full back Robinson crossed on 49 minutes, before Falvey replied with a penalty.

The hosts levelled at 18-18 on 64 minutes when winger Alex Kelly went over.

But the visitors looked to have dealt them a blow in the 70th minute when Yuill touched down and Falvey added the extras.

Quins refused to give in and Exley collected Jack Avery’s kick to touch down.

Robinson converted to earn a deserved draw.

Witney earned a 31-8 win over Newbury Blues.

A Ryan Trevaskin penalty gave Newbury the lead, before two three-pointers from Matt Clarke and Jamie Burke’s unconverted try put Witney 11-3 ahead.

Newbury’s Tom Sanders crossed on 36 minutes as the hosts led 11-8 at the break.

George Lane’s unconverted try extended their advantage, before Burke made it 21-8.

Arron Lambourne and Rhys Morgan added further tries for a convincing win.

Tom Clipsham crossed twice as Grove beat High Wycombe 17-7.

He scored both of his tries in the first half, with Brendon White also touching down.

Mike Martin converted Clipsham’s second for 17-0 at the break.

Grove conceded a converted try in the second half, but saw out the game for victory.
