CHINNOR overcame Redingensians to earn a 32-17 victory and make it five wins on the bounce.

The National League 2 South high-fliers preserved their 100 per cent record to stay second in the table.

A Jacob Atkins penalty gave the home side an early lead, but Chinnor hit back to lead 15-3 after 28 minutes.

Kieran Goss and Danny Barnes crossed. Bertie Hopkin converted the latter, before kicking a penalty.

It was soon 20-3 when Barnes went over again, but the visitors reduced the deficit to ten points at the break as Dan Saunders crashed over. Atkins added the extras.

Chinnor prop Jay Tyack was sin-binned and the hosts took advantage, with Robbie Stapley going over for an unconverted try to make it 20-17.

The introduction of prop Andy Berry helped even up the scrum for the visitors and it resulted in Bevon Armitage dotting down. Hopkin added the extras.

George Messum’s unconverted try finished off the scoring.

Henley Hawks fell to a disappointing 36-14 defeat to previously winless Barnes in west London.

David Hyde crashed over early on for the visitors, with George Jackson adding the extras.

But it was 7-7 at the break as Matthew Steele crossed for Barnes and Tom O’Toole converted.

Within ten minutes of the second half the hosts led 22-7, thanks to an O’Toole penalty, as well as tries from Oli Foster and Robbie Martey.

Jackson converted his own try for Henley, but further scores from James Hersey and Steele compounded their misery.
