CHINNOR fell to their second defeat when losing 30-22 at Bishop’s Stortford.

The National League 2 South leaders dominated the opening exchanges.

But Stortford pushed the visitors back and opened up a ten-point lead, thanks to a Tom Banks penalty and a converted Dan Elsom try.

Chinnor responded, with Alex Waddingham going over, but the hosts led 13-5 after Banks’s penalty.

The visitors started the second half strongly and led 17-13 after Bertie Hopkin and Callum Wilson tries.

But the momentum swung in the favour of the home side again, when Jimmy Rea, Hugh Michell and Matt Tomlinson crossed to make it 30-17.

Chinnor also lost Hopkin to a shoulder injury, but Tom Price dived over to earn a four-try bonus point.

Liam O’Neill suffered an injury to his head and neck as Henley conceded two late tries in a 38-27 defeat at Taunton Titans.

O’Neill was released from hospital on Sunday, with suspected concussion to the top of his spine.

The visitors led 18-3, thanks to two Gary Kingdom penalties as well as tries from Lewis Webb and Dan Frost.

George Jackson had earlier kicked a penalty for Hawks.

Henley hit back through O’Neill’s try, but Titans forward Frost then crossed for his second.

They reduced the deficit to 23-17 at half-time, after Barnaby Abdale Weir forced his way over.

The visitors started the second period strongly, with Marcus Lowe going over. Jackson converted and added a penalty to make it 27-23.

But Titans won it late on, thanks to tries from Alec Chase and Frost, as well as a Kingdom penalty.
