Alec Smith has been appointed Bicester’s new first-team coach after leaving Gosford All Blacks.
Smith, whose son Craig is in Bicester’s first-team squad, previously coached the club’s under 17 side.
He is also a member of the Wasps CoachClass team working in the community and was backs coach with Chinnor Academy.
Smith replaces Chris Nash, who has been in charge this season and will continue to help out.
The new coach will already have to start planning for life back in the BB&O Premier Division after Bicester’s relegation was sealed.
James Shields continues as Bicester’s fitness coach.
Gosford’s director of rugby Andy Baulch is now also in charge of the club’s first team.
Webb, who played in the 1991 World Cup final and won 33 caps, will run a clinic for Bicester’s under 16, colts and senior players from 7-8pm.
Non-members are welcome to attend Webb’s talk in the clubhouse at 8.15pm where he will reflect on his playing days and how his Christian faith helped him during this time.
Webb is appearing at the club as part of Love Bicester – a series of events organised by the town’s churches.
The talk will be followed by a question and answer session and a light supper will be available.
A contribution of £2 will be requested to cover costs with profits going to local church charities.
