ALCHESTER received the President’s Award at Oxfordshire RFU’s AGM in recognition of their fine first competitive season.
Assistant coach Steve Coogan collected the trophy from outgoing president Colin Baldwin to cap a campaign which saw them win the Oxfordshire Shield and reach the RFU Senior Vase quarter-finals.
Also recognised was freelance photographer Steve Wheeler, who has covered rugby for the Oxford Mail for 30 years.
Wheeler received a county badge, as did Wallingford’s Martin Hoare and Malcolm Thomas (Oxon youth rugby).
Incoming president Doug Bosley and secretary Ken Bumpass received county ties.
Witney and Henley 3rd were presented with their respective Southern Counties North and BB&O Division 1 South winners shields.
Chinnor finally got their hands on the Oxfordshire Cup after it was belatedly returned by Oxford Harlequins.
