SSE ENGLISH CLUBS CHAMPIONSHIP

CHINNOR have made seven changes following their 56-19 hammering at Bournemouth in National 2 South.

Prop Anthony Kent, hooker Joe Pickett, lock Andrew Smith, flanker Harry Betts, No 8 Ledua Jope, scrum half Frank Jones and centre Dan Barnes come in for tomorrow’s trip to Bishop’s Stortford.

Matt Goode moves from centre to fly half to replace the unavailable Will Millett.

Chinnor are one place and two points above the drop zone, but will guarantee survival with victories in their remaining two matches.

Oxford Harlequins, the South West 1 East champions, have next month’s Oxfordshire Cup final in mind as they make three changes for their final match away to third-placed Windsor.

Quins play Banbury in the county final at Iffley Road on Wednesday May 7.

“Places for the final are up for grabs,” said Quins head of rugby Steve Chadbone.

“So we’ve made three changes this week. But we still want to end with a win.”

Witney will finish in fourth place if they win their final match at Swindon.

“That would be highly satisfactory considering we were well down in the bottom half at Christmas,” said manager Francis Grant.

GOSFORD All Blacks and Wheatley contest tomorrow’s Oxfordshire Shield final at Witney RFC (2.30pm).
