Chinnor have continued to strengthen their side by snapping up former Aviva Premiership centres Jack Adams and Adam Dehaty.

Adams, 28, joins from National League 1 side Cinderford, while Dehaty, 30, returns to England after two years with Kowloon Rugby in Hong Kong.

The pair join fly half Mark Davies, winger Nevaro Codlin, No 8 Joe Vandermolen and prop Andy Berry in signing for National League 2 South Chinnor.

After Davies and Codlin, Adams is the third Cinderford player to move to the Oxfordshire club, while he played alongside Chinnor player-coach Junior Fatialofa at Bristol.

The experienced centre, who made 34 top flight appearances for Gloucester, is targeting success at his new club.

He said: “After deciding a change was in order I had several opportunities including higher leagues, but meeting (director of rugby) Matt Williams made my mind clear that Chinnor is the right home for me.

“I want to enjoy playing rugby again and it is going to be an exciting season at the club.

“I’m still hungry for success and I believe I can achieve this at Chinnor.

“Matt’s vision matches mine and it’ll be great to play with Mark, Fats and Nev (Codlin) again.”

Former Newcastle Falcon Dehaty is comfortable at outside centre, wing or full back.

After two years at Kowloon under director of rugby Joe Shaw, who is also skills coach at Saracens, where he helped the club win the Championship for the first time in 30 years, he returns home.

Williams is eager to see what Dehaty will add to the squad.

He said: “When Joe Shaw recommends a player to you, you have to listen.

“I’m really excited to see what Adam can do in pre-season as he will add something different to what we already have.

“He is a versatile back with wheels and an eye for an outside opportunity, something we lacked at times last season.

“Having the options we now have in midfield is a massive weapon this season.

“Competition is the key to success.”
