BANBURY RFC youngsters enjoyed their moment in the spotlight at Twickenham.
The club’s under 11s not only rubbed shoulders with World Cup-winner Jason Robinson, but played a starring role in the Aviva Premiership final at rugby’s national stadium.
Following their efforts in the Land Rover Premiership Cup – a nationwide series for U11 and U12 teams – earlier in the season, Banbury were invited to take place in a half-time parade, as well as getting the chance to meet Robinson, part of England’s 2003 triumph.
And there was an extra special moment for Jacob Perkins after he received the club MVP (most valuable player) award.
“It was so good to get MVP because it’s one of the first times I’ve won an award,” he said.
“I want to play for Northampton Saints when I’m older, so it was very exciting to get a taste of Twickenham.”
