WHEATLEY ran in six tries to beat Bletchley 41-22 away from home in the BB&O Premier.

Despite conceding an early penalty, the visitors hit back when Josh Hillsdon crossed and Aaron Laman added the extras.

Tries from Joe Taylor and Sanda Mpanza, the second converted by Laman, saw Wheatley lead 19-3.

But Bletchley responded just before the break to reduce the deficit to 11 points, Simon Chadbone being sent to the sin-bin for his protests.

The hosts crossed again at the start of the season half, but Wheatley replied when back up to 15 players, Jack Taylor diving over for an unconverted try.

Bletchley hit back to move to within two points, but the visitors found another gear.

Laman kicked a penalty before converting tries from Jordan Hook and Dave Thomas as Wheatley sealed victory.

Second-placed Littlemore edged Abingdon 29-28.

In the Championship, a hat-trick of tries from Lewis Giddings saw Harwell beat Farnham 46-26.

Andy Lee (2), Lewis Richards and James Hoskyns-Jones also crossed, with Tom Nicholas adding four conversions and a penalty.

Faringdon lost 29-14 at Berkshire Shire Hall, while Chipping Norton beat Phoenix 56-5.

Wallingford overcame ill-discipline to beat Reading Abbey 14-13 away in Southern Counties North.

Dan Sadler and Sam Botting scored tries, Phil Dawes converting both, in the narrow victory, which saw the visitors have three players sin-binned.

Relegated Gosford All Blacks lost 43-8 at home to Reading.
