CRAIG Burrows says Oxfordshire’s success last year has helped attract new faces to their squad for this season’s campaign.

The Bill Beaumont County Championship Division 3 holders host Buckinghamshire in their Pool 1 opener at Henley tomorrow (3).

Last year’s Twickenham triumph has seen more players than usual make themselves available for selection.

And head coach Burrows is relishing this year’s competition, in which they also face Essex in a three-team group.

He said: “It’s good to have last year’s experience under our belts.

“It has brought new faces to the squad and we’ve strengthened with a number of new players from Henley, Banbury and Quins.

“They saw what happened last year, the enjoyment the players got out of it, and it was something they wanted to be part of.

“But you don’t know what you are going to come up against.”
