LONDON Welsh head coach Justin Burnell says squad rotation has now become a necessity.

Most Aviva Premiership bosses choose to use the LV= Cup as a means to blood youngsters and recall fringe players.

But Burnell insists choice does not come into it as his side prepare to face Bath at the Rec today.

“We have got a ridiculous amount of injuries and they are mounting,” he said.

“We have got to utilise our squad these next two weeks.

“Hopefully, we can get a lot of these niggles and injuries sorted in time for our first game back in the Aviva against Wasps.

“These two weeks have got to be about rest, injury management and giving players opportunities.

“You are hoping that those boys who are having the opportunities will come in and force their way into that first position.”
