GRAHAM O’Keefe has followed up his Ireland debut by re-signing for Oxford Rugby League.

The back-row forward earned his first cap alongside Oxford clubmates Callum Mulkeen, and Matty Hadden in Ireland’s 25-4 European Championship defeat to Scotland.

And O’Keefe is now looking to build on this with Oxford in next season’s revamped 14-team Kingstone Press League 1.

“I really enjoyed my time at the club last season,” he said.

“There are some great people at the club and we have a real family environment down here.

“I am really looking forward to the fresh start next season and will be working hard to repay the faith the club has shown me.”

Team manager Ryan Cousins said “I am really pleased that Graham has decided to continue his rugby league journey with us for next season.

“He has shown great attitude and promise and really came into his own last season when he was given an extended run in the team and put in some impressive performances.

“I am looking forward to seeing how he goes next season after having a year under his belt at this level.”

Meanwhile, Cousins confirmed Oxford are putting together a shortlist to replace head coach Tony Benson, who quit last week, and hope to make an appointment shortly.
