Oxford’s Sarah Widdowson missed out on a chance for a dream trip to Richard Branson’ Necker Island in the Caribbean.
This was the prize from the winners of the Necker Cup tournament, in which professional players took on leading amateurs.
Widdowson won through a series of qualifying rounds before reaching the final stage for 20 players at the Virgin Active Royal County of Berkshire Health and Racquet Club in Bracknell. There, her dream ended.
