ABINGDON’S Alexis Canter has made the semi-finals of the Tashkent ITF Juniors in Uzbekistan with a hardfought 6-4, 4-6, 6-4 win over Sharobbidin Abzalov.
Canter, seeded third, faces Saida’lo Saidkarimov today.
At the British Tour in Edgbaston, Oxford’s Lucy Brown reached the semi-finals before losing to Mariam Bolkvadze, 6-2, 1-6, 6-4.
In the Thames Valley Winter League, Oxford City Ladies need a draw in their last match against Wantage to secure the Division 1 title.
They stretched their lead to five points after beating Cholsey 6-2.
Wantage have secured the second promotion spot after a 5-3 win against Witney B.
