I think every England fan is feeling disappointed about the World Cup 2014 campaign.

Two games and two defeats make it a miserable tournament for England and the fans.

After the Uruguay defeat there was just a slim glimmer of hope that we could qualify, but it was the same sort of hope that you pick your lottery tickets with!

Everyone is feeling doom and gloom about English football now, and we have a right to be downbeat.

However, I thought I would try and find some positives about our national game that might pick a few people up after reading so much negativity.

Daniel Sturridge is a big plus after his two performances in the World Cup so far.

Long may his confidence be sky high and he continue to score for club and country.

The youngsters like Sterling, Henderson, Lallana, Barkley, Welbeck and Sturridge all got playing time in Brazil.

Now they all have a major tournament experience under their belt and that is priceless. The return of Theo Walcott and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain from injury will certainly be a plus as well.

The threat these two players possess with their direct play and pace was visibly missed.

But for now, though, it would be nice to end the tournament by beating Costa Rica and restoring some national pride.
