A young man gored to death during the running of the bulls in Pamplona was not British, Spanish authorities have confirmed.
The man was gored in the neck during a run in which nine other people were injured after a bull separated from the pack.
A spokesman at the Virgen del Camino Hospital named the dead man as Daniel Jimeno Romero, 27, from Madrid.
Early reports suggested the man could be British and the Foreign Office was "urgently investigating" the matter.
Soon after the incident the man was pictured lying on a stretcher with his face and neck stained with blood and his eyes half-open.
Three other people were gored during the run and and six suffered bumps, bruises and other minor injuries.
