READERS and advertisers of The Oxford Times are being provided with a new digital platform.

In Business has been launched as an e-edition via the newspaper’s website with subscribers able to use cutting-edge page-turning software to virtually flick through the current issue of the magazine. It means that news, features and information are now available at the click of a mouse or via a tablet computer or an iPhone.

Lisa Wrintmore, regional digital media manager for Newsquest Oxfordshire and Wiltshire, said: “The idea is that anyone can subscribe to the magazine free of charge and have it e-mailed to them every month, which means they will never miss an edition.

“And of course the existing website for In Business and The Oxford Times business coverage will continue to give regular updates.”

The e-edition of In Business also contains an archive, so that past copies of the magazine can be viewed, with options which allow information to be stored and shared easily.

These include the ability to view individual pages, email articles or upload them to Facebook and Twitter. Individual pages can also be downloaded by creating a pdf file and then printed if necessary.

Advertisers will also find readers are sent direct to their website by clicking on a link.

Derek Holmes, Editor of The Oxford Times, added: “We are delighted that In Business is the first of our titles to appear as an e-edition. Increasing numbers of readers new and old are seeking out our news and features online. Our websites are already well established, and the e-edition gives our customers yet another way to access our content or take advantage of new and innovative advertising services. I hope all our readers will give it a try.”
