The Government has announced the Bribery Act will come into force on July 1.

It has also published guidance about the procedures which commercial organisations can put in place to prevent people associated with them from bribing.

A seminar arranged by Manches solicitors will look at how the act affects businesses with a focus on strategies for risk prevention and containment.

Key topics will include: . What constitutes "adequate procedures" to prevent bribery from taking place . What implications the Act has for corporate hospitality and client relations . How the act works in the context of joint venture and agency relationships The guest speaker will be Roderick Macauley from the Ministry of Justice.

Mr Macauley Roderick led the development of Government policy on the reform of the anti-bribery laws.

Manches experts will also be on hand to answer questions.
