A free workshop to help small businesses understand more about energy saving is being held at the Said Business School in Oxford.

The event on Thursday is designed to inform directors of how they can take advantage of the UK’s £500bn potential market for retrofit and low carbon construction as part of the FLASH+ programme. Derek Rees, chief executive of the South East Centre for the Built Environment, said: “The reality is that meeting the Government’s target of reducing carbon dioxide emissions from housing depends hugely on retrofit and SMEs to deliver.

"But we must give them the tools to do the job. An understanding of what works and what doesn’t is getting stronger by the day and this is what FLASH+ offers.” For more information and to book on workshop, which runs from 4-7pm, visit www.secbe.org.uk/flashplus.
