OXFORD now has its first dedicated fencing, decking and garden building supplier.
The Oxford Fencing Centre on Horspath Industrial Estate in Pony Road is already producing and selling its own panels.
It also stocks decking, gates and a range of garden buildings and hopes to initially take on six staff.
The Fencing Centre, which is based in Parley, near Bournemouth, Dorset, now has seven branches across the south.
Some 80 people are employed by the company that has a turnover of £8m.
Each year the firm supplies about 200 miles of fencing panels — enough to fence the Oxford ring road 14 times.
Director Steve Randall, 49, said: “The company started in 1984 and we now operate seven sites. We’re extremely excited about our move into Oxford.
“We hope to grow the company there and take more staff on in the coming months.
“We want to get ourselves involved in the community and are looking for sports teams to sponsor.”
