SCHOOL might be out for summer, but that doesn’t stop the enthusiasm for a whole season of adult education at The Mill.
On Monday, August 6, a fortnight of wonderful arts and crafts opportunities begin.
The school includes various arts sessions, from painting and drawing to life drawing, watercolour techniques, ink and wash and oil painting. Classes are all run by experts who will give beginners and more experienced students the chance to learn and improve technique and find new inspiration.
There is a two-day collograph printmaking course using cardboard, textured last, seeds and other intriguing materials.
An introduction to digital photography will be a popular two-day workshop in which light, composition and photographic techniques will be examined.
Those interested in jewellery-making will be able to make a silver pendant in a day, a wire-weaving workshop, will transform wire and other reclaimed metal objects into woven sculptures for the home and garden and a two-day textile course concentrates on beaded and embellished pyramid cushions.
