Oxford University company Heart Sleeve Productions presents the first Oxford production of Howard Brenton’s Royal Court hit Bloody Poetry. The play tells the story of Lord Byron, Percy Bysshe Shelley, Mary Shelley and Claire Clairmont. It tracks their lives and relationships between 1816 and 1820, the period in which Byron wrote his epic Don Juan and Mary Shelley conceived Frankenstein. The playwright makes a rare public appearance with a talk (at 6.30pm) before the Thursday performance.
