Singer-songwriter

BEN MONTAGUE

  • O2 Academy, Oxford
  • Tonight, 7pm
  • Tickets: £8 from ticketweb.co.uk

Widescreen epic-pop tales of love found, lost and regained, from a startling singer-songwriter. The former d'Overbroeck’s pupil returns to his adopted hometown armed with new album Tales Of Flying And Falling.

The singer, still best known for his hauntingly beautiful breakthrough Haunted, is blessed with a sublime voice and a heart-wrenching set of songs. We predict not a dry eye in the house.

O Children

Having just cleaned up after last week’s Oxjam Takeover, Modern Art Oxford again opens its doors for the Basement Sessions. Taking their place among the art are soaring gothic indie bunch O Children, the abrasive Drop Out Venus, taut four-piece Frazer and Norwich’s eerie alt-pop outfit Tawny Owl.
