Has this country finally gone mad?

A young Australian, obviously of British origin, comes to the UK to visit his sick grandfather and to look up a few cousins, but is given 48 hours to return to Australia.

A convicted Serbian war criminal is given asylum, allowed to wander our streets and is given a caution for shoplifting.

Perhaps we were naive, but there was a time when most, or at least some of us, were under the impression that those in charge of our lives knew what they were doing. But now . . .?
