  • Edward Wassell, 33, of Wadards Meadow, Witney, admitted causing criminal damage to front door of a police station in Welch Way, Witney, and using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour in Witney on March 28. Fined £100 and told to pay £85 costs and £20 victims’ surcharge.
  • Shaun Smith, 24, of Redmaynes, Ham Lane, Aston, Bampton, admitted assault by beating on February 26 in Market Square, Witney. Given a 12-month conditional discharge and told to pay £15 victims’ surcharge and £85 costs.
  • Neil Brayshaw, 47, of Finchley Lane, Bicester, convicted of speeding in Watlington Road, Shirburn, on August 15. Was driving at 43mph in a 30mph zone. Fined £160 and told to pay £15 and £620 costs. Given four points on driving licence.
  • Marcus Hadland, 41, of Bicester Road, Whistlow, Middle Barton, admitted stealing a Lancia Beta Volumex Coupe, which was under restoration, worth £6,000 from Steeple Aston between August 15 and August 18. Also took an Alfa Romeo without permission from Steeple Aston on August 15. Community order made with 240-hour unpaid work requirement and told to pay £500 compensation.
  • Michael Catherall, 19, of Lime Crescent, Bicester, admitted failing to comply with the requirements of the Sexual Offences Act between January 14 and January 31 in Colne Close, Bicester. Fined £110 and told to pay £20 victims’ surcharge and £85 costs.
  • Paul Varney, 41, of Ruscote Avenue, Banbury, admitted drink driving in Longelandes Way, Banbury, on January 29. Had 87 micrograms of alcohol in 100ml of breath, above the legal limit of 35 micrograms. Fined £475 and told to pay £48 victims’ surcharge and £85 costs. Given 18-month driving ban.
  • Mohamed Taseem, 42, of Windrush, Banbury, admitted possessing cannabis, a Class B drug, on January 27 in Dukes Meadow Drive, Banbury. Given a 12 month conditional discharge and told to pay £15 victims’ surcharge and £45 costs.
