BOOK lovers will able to enjoy a host of talks and workshops about writing at Chipping Norton Literary Festival, which starts tomorrow.

Writers taking part include the creator of hit TV period drama Downton Abbey, Julian Fellowes, Girl with a Pearl Earring author Tracy Chevalier and We Need to Talk About Kevin writer Lionel Shriver and controversial Oxford academic Prof Richard Dawkins.

The festival runs until Sunday, with 50 events at 10 different venues and offers the chance to hear authors in settings ranging from The Theatre to more intimate settings, including rooms in the town’s pubs and the award-winning Jaffe & Neale bookshop, in Middle Row.

Authors will discuss the craft of writing at various workshop sessions and there will be special events and activities for children, including a storytelling performance of Roald Dahl’s classic The BFG, performed by Anthony Pedley, at The Theatre at 3pm on Sunday Authors will also visit schools in the town and surrounding villages.
