A BOAT that sank at Oxford’s Osney Lock in the November floods has finally been raised.
Environment Agency contractors pulled the boat out of the water yesterday after a difficult three-hour operation.
A crane mounted on a barge was used and the boat, which had got stuck against the weir barrier, was lifted on to dry land before being removed.
Osney lock-keeper Ray Riches, above, said: “It was quite tricky, but they did a very good job.”
The boat sank after it broke free from its moorings as water levels on the Thames rose dramatically during heavy rain in November.
