WITH reference to an article in the Oxford Mail regarding Sturdy’s Castle restaurant, which has recently opened.
My husband and I and two friends have visited the last two weekends and found the reporter’s comments damaging.
We all had the Sunday roast and found it very good.
Regarding the decoration, that is also very pleasant, the staff very friendly and helpful.
The dining room was full when we arrived at 12.30pm and stayed that way all the time we were eating our meal.
As regards her comments about the Potato Pub that we all knew, this also was always very full. I expect your reporter was too young to remember it.
May I suggest that your reporter returns to the said place with her eyes open wider.
We shall all return and have another meal there. We are all older than your reporter and appreciate a well-cooked meal.
We certainly were not treated like lemons, as your reporter implied.
