THANK you for highlighting the fall in crime on the Rose Hill estate, the importance of the local police office and also the wider regeneration (April 16).

To set readers’ minds at rest: the housing regeneration only covered Orlit properties and subsequently Glenn-Lion bungalows, as well as some sub-standard sheltered housing.

The other property types mentioned in the article (Howard and Minnox homes) are structurally sound and still standing (I should know, as I live in one!).

There are no plans to replace these. A pilot project to clad Minnox homes was undertaken in Danvers Road and council officers are currently investigating ways of extending this to other council-owned Minnox properties, although the costs associated with such work are substantial.
